Vanessa Hills, Ph.D., is the founder of HillShift Consulting. Vanessa received her doctoral degree in Organizational Change Leadership from Western Michigan University and has over 15 years of corporate communication and consulting experience. Now settled in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Vanessa has lived and worked in Asia, Europe, and Africa. These diverse experiences have led to her appreciation for cross-cultural competency and the critical role that communication and dialogue play in Organization Development.

While supporting global clients in professional services, healthcare, nonprofits, manufacturing, and higher education, Vanessa has led large-scale facilitation and community engagement efforts, prepared leaders to handle the complexities of organizational change, and provided training for teams and departments. Whether coaching executives one-on-one or teaching university students, she is passionate about preparing current and future leaders to navigate change in a globalized world. Vanessa is both scholar and practitioner, approaching consulting projects with a combination of hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge. Her research and writing interests include remote work, Dialogic OD, and psycho-social approaches to organizational change. Vanessa enjoys travel, fiction, and hiking along the many trails in Western Michigan.
